Hello again ladies and gents :D

My 4 year old and 9 year old brothers have asked my mum to enter their school's decorate an egg competition and we're having trouble thinking of simple things to make that we can help them do if needs be but that they can do themselves overall (there are a lot of children who enter where you know for a fact that their parents done everything and end up winning >:0)

    any ideas appreciated :D

In the juniors I once made an egg of my uncle (and won) as he had a bald patch, so I glued wool around for the hair and drew his face on and called it 'My Uncle John'!

Then I did 2 pigs in a sty. Painted two boiled eggs pink, glued on a pink paper nose and ears and curly tail and put straw in the top of an egg box for the sty, I think won that year too!

I once did Mike from Monsters inc for my son's playgroup Easter egg competition, I used plastacine for his arms and legs and painted his face on, he looked quite good, but I was disqualified from the competition! I was told I'd taken it too seriously and it was supposed to be 'just a bit of fun'! lol!

Just think of anything they are interested in and try to adapt it, or an animal is usually easy, like a hedgehog or a cat sitting up? Good luck. x

We have done pikachu before... It was fab!

You could do a London guard (as in eggs and soldiers!) or nemo or a chicken. At Christmas on LW they had a nativity made from eggs!

My son won his in year 5 and he spent all night doing it. It was "The great eggscape".
He made a prison cell from a shoe box, made little bunk beds in the corner, painted the egg black and white,, crinkled some paper for arms and then bent the front of the cell with the arms half out. It did look fab and i was glad he won.
